Lights and Darkness

Lights and darkness


"For some people lights can represent life, activism and happiness. For others it can represent our busy lives, full of obligations and fear. Sometimes too scary to be exploited. And that’s the point; we have a huge border that separates our daily life, the one that everyone can see, and our personal life. And that’s the difficult part on our self-knowledge journey.

For an artist is very important to know where the public life ends and the private life begin. We need a time to ourselves, to think, write, paint or create art. But to do this, we need to know what make us happy and what inspire us. Sometimes we need to go to the other side, the dark and scary one, where we don’t know how to walk and what to do. Leave the safety of the big town, cross the lake and have a look on the whole picture. And when we get the courage to do this crossing, when we leave the safety and we go trough the world of the unknown, we never leave like when we arrived. We get stronger and wisest, we realize that, even the ugly days have them beauty. This is the kind of thought that only an artist that have the courage to let everything go and face the challenges of life can have.

The dark is not scary and is on the absent of light that we can really see ourselves. Do the crossing is hard and cost us a lot, but the view is splendid."
